A group of old farmhouses stands at the fringe of the city forest 'Eckernworth', which was already mentioned in the 16th-century.
The Heidemuseum 'Rischmannshof' is one Germany's oldest open-air museum. Already in 1911/12 were the two-post smoke farmhouse (18th-century), a stair-loft (1669) and a servant's house (18th-century) transferred to this place.
