The cycle and trekking path creates as a remote bicycle path "Glan-Blies-Weg" a connection from the Rhine through Glan and Blies all the way to Sarreguemines in France.
Since 1994 the disused rail section of the once Glantal railway between Waldmohr and Glan-Münchweiler is now being used as a cycle and trekking route.
The Glan-Blies-Weg is continuous, consistently signposted. The signposts, whose locations were agreed with the area and association community, are designed according to the country code of Rhineland-Pfalz for the groundbreaking signposting on the bike paths and offer the bike rider clearly all the important information.
At all crossings, where bike paths meet, are listings, with kilometre specifications, of all far and near targets. The course of Glan-Blies-Weg is marked with a route logo that is attached under the sign posts.
En-route there are wonderful views and opportunities for the bike rider to pause and recover.
