Carl Friedrich Gauß
(1777-1855) On the 23.2.2010, was the 155th anniversary of the death of Carl Friedrich Gauß. For 50 years, Gauß had been living and working in Göttingen as a scientist. He caused a worldwide stir through his research, the effects lasting till the present. On this occasion, the Georg-August-University, the city of Göttingen and the Göttinger Gauß-Society organised together the GAUSSYEAR 2005.

The Carl Friedrich Gauß and Wilhelm Weber monument on the Bürgrstraße in Göttingen.

The year 2007, marked his 230th birthday. On this occasion a flower bouquet was laid on his grave (Cheltenham Park) on the 30.04.2007.
