The Düster cross in Nideggen is located along a forest path near the youth hostel. It is probably the only fire brigade monument in the district Düren. It was erected in honour of the firefighter Heinrich Düster in 1912, who died there during a forest fire in Nideggen on the 9th of September 1911.
