The community of Himbergen, which consists of 10 districts: Almstorf, Brockhimbergen, Gr.Thondorf, Himbergen, Hohenfier, Kl.Thondorf, Kettelstorf, Kollendorf, Rohrstorf and Strothe also belongs to the community of Bevensen.

Himbergen is a village, which hasn't lost the charm of an old village despite its modern settlers. Companionship is spelt out in capital letters in Himbergen. Tradition and modernity are often present in unison at many festivals and events.

The fire brigade is especially worth mentioning as it holds importance in the social centre in Himbergen, as it has 250 members.

The village church, is dedicated to the holy Bartholomew and possesses more than five late-Gothic altar statues dating from the 15th and 16th-century.
