The community Kreiensen setzt consists of the following villages: Ahlshausen-Sievershausen, Bentierode, Beulshausen, Billerbeck, Bruchhof, Erzhausen, Garlebsen, market town Greene, Haieshausen, Ippensen
Kreiensen, Olxheim, Opperhausen, Orxhausen and Rittierode due to the Lower Saxon administration and land reform in 1974. The community Kreiensen has a population of around 7.800 and is situated in close proximity to Harz, Solling and the Weser Hills.

Kreiensen is mostly known because of its railway station. The listed railway building was constructed in the years 1887 to 1889 is considered as a railway interchange today. The north-south and east-west connections cross here. An interesting destination in the community Kreiensen is the Greener castle with its accessible tower. On a good day one can even see the Harz.
