The bird park is situated near the Hermann Monument and houses 1.200 indigenous and exotic birds in 300 species, e.g. pelicans, flamingoes, cranes and the world's smallest gamefowl.


One of the greatest attraction is a petting meadow for parrots. There you are eyeball to eyeball with amazon, macaw and cockatoo. Close animal experiences are offered by our parakeet and small parrot house. Die Vögel fressen Ihnen dort aus der Hand, während zwischendurch eben ein Känguru vorbei hüpft.

The beauties of the African fauna can be seen and experienced close up in our accessible Africa enclosure.

At the breeding station, one can watch chicks hatching. The feeding of the parrot babies takes place daily at 12noon and 4pm. Every day at 3pm you are able to take part in the feeding with a zookeeper.
