Bergerdamm consists today of the villages Lager, Hanffabrik and Hertefeld. The village appeared in the village register in 1897.
In the year 1907 there were even already one station master and two railway officials. In 1931 there were 16 residences and the village had size of 1034 hectare. In 1939 there were six agricultural and silvicultural operations. In the course of the land reform in 1948 five-hundred hectare passed over to the state for seed production. 363 hectare were given to forty-seven new settlers and farmers without land.
Before the reunification Bergerdamm had a hemp factory were the hemp was of course processed for industrial purposes only. Whether one smoked here secretly is not known.

Hemp is an old crop from Asia and was already mentioned in the year 484BC by Herodotus. Today everybody thinks in connection with hemp only of cannabis consumption. If the people of Bergerdamm could proceed with hemp growing for medical purposes then the tax bag of the Amt Nauen-Land would be full but due to the stringent narcotic acts this will stay a dream.
Historical interesting is also the Havelländische great main canal. But when you look at it you may wonder where it got the great in its name from. The canal originated through years of work of draining the Luch area. The project was inspired by the Dutch because the countryside was very similar to the motherland of canals.
