Antonius Chapel

The Kleinenbroicher citizen Heinrich Breuer, was drafted into the military service under Napoleon I in 1811. He fought in Spain against the freedom fighters. During the war, he made the solemn promise, should he survive the war, he would build a chapel in honour of the Holy Antonius of Padua. Antonius is a patron saint amongst other for persons in war calamities. Heinrich Breuer returned unharmed from the war and fulfilled his solemn promise in 1817.
