The AKAFÖ is the student union for the four Bochum colleges, the polytechnic Gelsenkirchen and its branches in Recklinghausen and Bocholt.

We are responsible for the social, economic and cultural care of the students here. We have a comprehensive service available, which will help you with arising questions and problems concerning the studies.

The AKAFÖ cares forover 50.000 students and college employees in 24 canteens and cafeterias, rents over 4.200 rooms in 19 student campus accommodations, has been commissioned with the implementation of BAföG (student loans), offers child care, foreign students, social and handicapped counselling and much more.

Our range includes the main areas of gastronomy, living, financing, culture, international concerns, child care, handicapped counselling and service. For you that means: We offer a solution for everything, from BAföG-advise to recreational activities.
You take care of your studies, we do the rest.
