Husch Husch

On the 10th May 2014 it finally happened. Husch Husch, the third original of Wuppertal finally received its sculpture. After the Zucker Fritz and also Mina Knallenfals immortalized themselves with sculptures.

The nicest anecdote which I, as a citizen of Wuppertal, know about "Husch husch" is:

During the 30ties Husch Husch shall be forced to greet the flas of the Nationalsocialists. The henchmen assumed that Husch Husch will pay tribute to the flag with a Hitler salute.

Yet Husch Husch shall have said only "Good day flag".

Husch Husch, his common name was Peter Held, was a peddler with a beard. Born on the 2nd August 1886, and according a common myth he descended from a vicar's family and he was a brother of a famous ear, nose and throat doctor; in actual fact he was the son of day labourer.
