Groß Machnow is situated at the B 96, coming from the motorway exit  Rangsdorf towards southern direction.

The church is situated inside the walled-in former church yard at the north end of the village green. It still possesses large parts of its original building structure.

The construction goes back to the middle of the 13th century.

It still presents an originally impression even though the original brick construction in the nave and choir area has been severely disrupted by the inserting of basket arched windows during baroque times.

The church is a four-part filed-stone building with cross-west-tower.

At the tower one can see a change in the brickwork finish. It has three pointed arched louvre-boards at the east and west side and one each at the north and south side.

At the southern side of the choir is the dominion box situated. It shows  irregular brickwork.

The stones are in parts red bricks and in parts field-stones, of different size and not bricked in even layers. The box was obviously once completely plastered.
