The Community Kronshagen

is situated at Kiel's western outskirts, around six kilometres from the city centre.

At the beginning of the last century, the village Kronshagen was one of the many independent communities at Kiel's periphery.
As, for example, the former communities Russee, Suchsdorf, Hasseldieksdamm, Projensdorf, Wik and Hassee, which also belonged to the old Amt Kronshagen.
Today, all of these former villages are districts of Kiel.
Kronshagen stayed independent and developed with its around 12.000 inhabitants, to an outskirts community and calls itself 'The Garden City Kronshagen'.
Kronshagen has well developed public facilities, industrial parks,
gastronomy and residential areas.

The town hall, completed in the year 2000, is the house for communal self-government and the administration and service centre in Kronshagen.
Diverse exhibitions also take place here regularly.
Here, at the Kopperpahler Allee, modern architecture and antiquity come together quite harmoniously.

Also situated along the Kopperpahler Allee, is the community centre, completed 1984, which is ideal for small and larger events.
The community centre was extended in the year 2000.
Now, there are additional club rooms.
There are two bowling alleys, the Schützenstube with shooting range and the rooms for adult education in the basement of the community centre.
Another public facility is the community library.
It is situated in an annexe of the community centre.
Books, videos, music-CDs as well as CD-ROMs can be borrowed.
