The BUEZ - Barnstorf Environment-Experience-Centre
A centre was created at the area of the former natural gas cleaning facility at the Diepholz bog lowland for visitors to see the a transformation of an industrial area to a nature and recreation area. In addition regenerative power is being created by most modern technique.
Here two wind power stations and one of the biggest photovoltaic facility in North Germany are situated.
Guided tours and seminars, topics like rubbish avoidance and water cycles will be discussed. In cooperation with the education house 'Rural Adult Education' (LEB), which works on the premises, the thematic focus is on 'renewable energies', 'photovoltaics', 'wind energy' and 'tourism' is being conveyed.
We are happy to show our little and big guests on the large outdoor area, what kind of life happens in the different habitats and the beekeeper can report what happens in the beehives.
The forest kindergarten of the DRK is teaching environmental education to the little ones already. It is situated in a large beautiful forest. The Barnstorfer Environment-Experience-Centre attaches great importance of experiences with all the senses - connected with one's own »participation« and the understanding of correlations. The classic guided tour, where everybody is just listening, is seen here only as a »makeshift solution« for individual cases!
We offer action under the leadership - among others in experiential pedagogy - of trained participants for school classes and all groups of teenagers and those young at heart. The themes demonstrate the diversity of environmental and nature experience. The actions take about two or three hours.
