Community Geschendorf

The community Geschendorf is situated in the eastern district of Segeberg at the Bundestrasse 206 between the county seat Bad Segeberg and the Hanseatic city of Lübeck in the parish of Pronstorf.


Geschendorf belongs to the Amt Trave-Land, has a surface of 570 hectare and right now a population of ca. 550.

It was founded by Westphalian settlers in the middle of the 12th-century. The village is first mentioned in the Lübecker citizen role Civilitates through the entrance of the Radolfus de Gesekendorpe in 1317. In 1433 the village is being named in the episcopally tithe register Jesekendorpe.
