They still exist.....

.....like a castle from a fairytale.

Situated in the Zwickauer Land, at the B 173 between Zwickau and Reichenbach the castle was built over 800 years ago by the stewards of Weida on a high Diabas rock as refuge and border castle. It was extensively restored in 1975 and has now been furnished as a museum.

It presents itself to the hiker, visitor as proud, stubborn but also dreamily picturesque and shrouded in mystery. It still offers today everything to stir one's romantic blood.

An ancient tower, well worth the ascent, round walls with gothic pointed roof, old frame-work with carvings, a still walkable century-old battlement - and laying at one's feet, a picturesque village with baroque church, village pond and mills at the Plexgrund.
If you look for calm, tranquillity and relaxation - you will find it here.
