Tremmen presents itself as a village with stately farms and Wilhelminian style residences. It was first mentioned in the year 1161. Today ca 770 people live in Tremmen.
The village's main attraction is the church from the years 1416/17. The church was well-known and popular as place of pilgrimage,. It belonged to the diocesan chapter  Brandenburg. The one-nave brick building with its two square towers and onion domes, is the only one with this building style in the district Havelland. The church's interior still has scenic wall paintings from the second half of the 15th century.
