Water Tower Rostock

The construction of the Rostocker water tower was completed in 1903 and served from then on as a guarantor for the water supply and stable water pressure for the Rostocker citizens.

Inside, a steel tank is situated, which has the capacity of 800m3. The tower was heavily damaged during the 2nd World War.

The tower is being used as water storage well into the year 1956. From 1991 to 1996, it was renovated and rebuilt. In the course of these works, 7 floors in the tower were integrated for usage.

The tank and further technical equipment like pipes and valves could be preserved.

Right now, the tower is not accessible. Today, the building is being used by the historical-cultural museum as a storage warehouse.
