The Water Tower

The tower was already constructed in 1897 and regulated the water pressure of Cuxhaven's households until 2004. The tower is 47 metres high and the drinking tank can hold the volume of nearly one million litres water.

The technical monument rises up between the Kapitän-Alexander-Straße and the Bahnhofsstraße near the Kaemmererplatz. The water tower is surrounded by a small idyllic park with a view onto the Landwehr Canal and a pond facility with water feature.

Today the accommodation is used as office space for Cuxhaven's consumer advice centre.
