Golßen received the charter of a town in the year 1276 . The city centre is coined by the noble houses, built around 1900 and the town hall.

was constructed from 1904 to 1906 after plans by the construction council Tieffenbach.

The neo-gothic brick building has three storey and a tower, which was restored in the years from 1992 to 1995 and determines till today the silhouette of Golßen.
