The Palace Park Königsbrück

The park stretches over Bachaue and terraces to the opposite situated slope. The car park at the market place is recommended for visitors who arrive by car. From the station of the line Dresden-Straßgräbchen the palace complex can be reached in five minutes.

Originally the palace was a castle with customs station at the border river between margraviate Meißen and the Oberlausitz - the Pulsnitz. The several rebuilt palace was since the middle of the 16th century centre of noble governance. In the year 1703 Baroness von Schellendorf had the terrace walls built, in which context probably a baroque garden was created. The facility was extended in the first half of the 19th century and newly staged. The fabricant Dr. Walter Naumann redesigned the park around 1919. The palace was used after the 2nd World War as home for tuberculosis patients.
