The Martin-Luther Church in Fliegenberg

Originally the citizen of Fliegenberg, Wuhlenburg and Rosenweide had a long way to go to church: they had to walk all the way to Winsen. Already in 1936 one considered to at least build a parish hall for the citizen of Fliegenberg. Yet only in 1953 the Martin-Luther chapel community applied for the construction of a chapel. The building was accomplished in 1954. The church tower was built in 1960.
After the storm flood in 1962 a round glass window featuring a dove was donated for the south wall of the church. The altar is crowned by the cross, next to the altar stands an impressive "earth circle candle holder" which was designed and created by the community.
A beautiful baptistery in a neo Gothic style was donated by the school association in 1901. A silver chalice originates assumingly from the time of the 30 year war.
On the 1st January 1982 Fliegenberg became an independent church community and in June 2004 they celebrated their 50th church anniversary.
