The Künzelsauer Mountain Railway

The Künzelsauer mountain railway was taken into operation in 1999 and connects the centre, situated in the valley with the areas high up.

The funicular was built first and foremost as an environmental friendly and efficient public transport; it is also a place of interest for the town's visitors.
The capacity is 80 persons per waggon and so over 1000 persons can be transported per hour. One can even take bicycles on board.
This option is very popular especially on Sundays and public holidays as well as during holiday seasons.
