The Huvenhoop Bog

The Huvenhoop bog is a bog area in the rural district Rotenburg Wümme. It is part of the community Gnarrenburg and the northern end of the Teufelsmoor (devil's bog).

Situated in the middle of the bog is the Huvenhoop lake one of the last bog waterbodies in the Teufelsmoor and in Lower Saxony. Here one finds still the typical bog plants.
A special highlight is the bog nature trail with a length of ca. 2km. On the trail one can view the origin of the bog and the fauna at different stations.

At three stations it becomes interactive. Here one is able to consider the healing power of the bog for example whereby the bog goblin 'Huvi' will be there all the time. The 'barefoot-station' lets you explore the bog close-up. Another highlight is the viewing tower, which offers a great view over the Huvenhoop lake as well as the bog itself.

The bog area is situated at the western end of Augustendorf in the rural district Rotenburg (Wümme).
