Sportpark Duisburg - known as Sportpark Wedau

The Sportpark Duisburg, which is also known under its former name Sportpark Wedau, is situated in the south of Duisburg and is seen as one of the biggest sports parks in Germany. It houses sports areas for football, rowing canoeing, swimming, diving, ice hockey, athletics, hockey, basketball, tennis, table tennis, fencing as well as other sports. At the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena, the former MSV-Arena, the football club MSV Duisburg plays all its home matches here.

The Sportpark Duisburg gained worldwide prominence through its regatta course. It's a national and international important venue for canoe and rowing competitions. Numerous national competitions and world championships have been taken place here already.

Adjacent to the regatta course is the Bundes- und Landesleistungszentrum (federal and state training centre) for canoe racing located.

In close proximity to the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena is the SCANIA-Arena located, which was called Eissporthalle Duisburg in the past. The hall is mainly available for the ice hockey and figure skating. In winter the hall is open to the public for ice skating.

On the sports park grounds is also the sports school Wedau situated. Several sports clubs have its seat as well as trainings site there.
