Societaet Rostock maritim e.V. - formerly Shipping Museum

The former 'Rostocker Shipping Museum' was a society house for the Rostock citizens in the middle of the 19th-century.

In 1901, it was purchased by the city of Rostock and as art and antiquity museum reopened in 1903. From 1968 to 2003 it was the Rostocker Shipping Museum.

Since 2006, the house has been used by the club Societät Rostock maritim e. V. as a place for permanent and special exhibitions about maritime themes as well as a meeting place.

If you want to explore something about ships and maritime traditions, you have come to the right place. There are great ship models, an original ship's bridge and lots more to be seen.

Enjoy sailing boats, ferries, warships and an around 2m long model of the Titanic.
