The 16th-century Palace Gottorf, where the exhibition of the county museum Schleswig-Holstein is housed, can be looked at as the cultural centre of the town Schleswig. The big exhibition has some sights that are well worth a visit.
Special highlights for instance is the Nydam boat from the 4.century, Art and handicraft from the Middle Ages to the present, interesting special exhibitions as well as the most important expressionism collection of the north.
