Museum Amtspforte Stadthagen

The historical Amtspforte was built in 1553. The elaborately decorated half-timbered house has been an administration, court and jaile building for the department Stadthagen for over three centuries. Since 1900 Amtspforte was used as a residence and serves as a museum since 1963.
In 1987, extensive renovation work started and in 1992, the newly designed permanent exhibition was opened.

On show at the three floors are exhibitions with the focus on:

- Stadthagen's history,
- Stadthäger economic life
in the 19th and 20th-century J
- Schaumburger traditional costumes from the Amt Stadthagen

10am - 12noon + 3pm - 5pm
Saturday + Sunday
3pm - 5pm
