Moisburg Mill Museum

The Amstwasser mill in Moisburg was built in 1723, but a mill has been mentioned in this place already in the 14th-century. The mill museum shows, how one lived and worked in a mill in the 1930ties. In the last 100 years, windmills and water-mills have been replaced by by new engergies like steam, diesel and electricity, but the heavy millstones are still turning in Moisbur, several times a month. Then, a miller is happy to demonstrate his trade and tells of everyday living and of the industrialisation.

An exhibition about regional mill history invites you to explore. Children can try their hand on different hand-mills how corn becomes flour. In the mill chamber café, visitors can enjoy coffee, mill tarts and fresh bread in a rustic atmosphere.
