The museum is housed together with the museum cafe 'Zum Pferdestall' in the historical half-timbered building 'Hof Gümmer' and shows on three levels photos, models, documents, maps, tools, working clothes, miner's lamps and many more exhibits around Schaumburg mining. Apart from special exhibitions guided tours, celebrations and cultural events are part of the programme.
