The cenotaph from 1877 is the oldest in the town of Achim. It was moved in the course of town development to the town hall garden. The monument remembers the soldiers who died in the battle near Langensalza on the 27. June 1866.

Monument inscription:
„Zum Andenken an die braven Hannoveraner aus der Landdrostei Stade, welche am 27. Juni 1866 in der Schlacht bei Langensalza für die Unabhängigkeit ihres Vaterlandes und ihr angestammtes Königshaus den Heldentod starben."

(In remembrance of the brave Hanover soldiers from the bailiwick Stade, who died a heroes' death in the battle near Langensalza for the independence of their fatherland and their ancestral royal house on the 27. June 1866.)
