Langenbernsdorf - Soft Tourism and Equestrian Sport
The community Langenbernsdorf with the villages of Niederalbertsdorf, Trünzig and Langenbernsdorf is situated between the Koberbach Dam and the Werdauer/Greizer Forest and borders in the west on Thuringian villages. A speciality of Langenbernsdorf are the six evangelic-Lutheran churches, three of those are situated Niederalbersdorf.
On the way step by step to soft tourism the community has directed its focus on village restoration. Especially the restaurant 'Weißes Roß' (first mentioned in the year 1417) in the village centre is a feast for the eyes. Well worth seeing is the reconstructed hall from the art nouveau time, which is suitable for handicapped persons and can be hired from the community.
Not without reason has Langenbernsdorf won at the state competition 2003 "Unser Dorf soll schöner werden – unser Dorf hat Zukunft" the great second place.
The closeness to the Werdauer Forest and the Koberbach Dam is the reason that more and more hiker and cyclists choose Langenbernsdorf as a destination with accommodation options. Several inns and guesthouses like the Hof Pegasus in the village of Trünzig invite the guest for a meal or longer stays. Even camping friends are happy: The community Langenberndorf manages at the Koberbach Dam campsites and a bungalow village with 50 bungalows.
Horse breeding and equestrian sport have tradition in Langenberndorf and made the community into one of the most popular equestrian sport villages. The horse market in spring, the ride and driving show in summer or the Christmas show programme at the riding school Steffen Scholz, the Saxon reigning champion in horse-drawn carriages, are events which attract annually horse friends from far and near to Langenbernsdorf. The Reit- und Fahrverein Langenbernsdorf e.V. and the Pferdezuchtverein e.V. offer equestrian sport friends the option of participation and development beyond Langenbernsdorf.
