Lamberti Church in Muenster

The late gothic town and market church of St. Lamberti has been famous for centuries.

The three iron cages on the church tower, above the golden clock, date back from the time of the rebellious city's history, the Kingdom of the Baptist. The foundation stone was laid in the year 1375.
The church reflects the prosperity and strength of merchants and is the fifth house of God, at this point. The in 2005 beatified Cardinal Clemens August Graf von Galen was here until 1933, as pastor and later held by the bishop of Münster Lamberti pulpit his famous sermon against the Nazi regime.
