On the 7. October 1974 a Heimatstube (local parlour) with folkloristic collections opened it's doors in the house of the town council. In two small parlours exhibits are being displayed. In 1992 the collection had grown so wast that they could exhibit in 10 rooms and every year something new was added. In 35 years the collection had grown way beyond the original wish.  Historical crafts tradition can be viewed.

Apart from historical photos and cards on show there is also a forge, bakery, carpentry, stove fitter and cobbler's workshop, old household items and an old roofing tile collection as well as special exhibitions are on display. A wood-burning oven where sourdough bread can be baked is situated in the yard.

On show are:

- an exhibition about village history
- a special exhibition: Technique 'Made in GDR'
- living as 100 years ago
- exhibition about the carpenter, brick-maker, roofer, stove fitter, cobbler and bakery trade 
- open-air forge
- special exhibitions at the HofGalerie
- exhibition 'Nature Park Uckermark Lakes' 
- baking presentations with a wood-burning oven
- offers for day programmes with walks, village guided tours, church sightseeing, lunch and afternoon coffee
- lodging agency

Today the has become a meaningful museum. Well worth a visit.

By now the little museum specialises more and more in village-typical crafts. History should be preserved and make it come alive for future generations.
