The Hessian Dolls Museum is a meeting point for young and old dolls friends from all over the world. The museum has been located in the charming spa facility Hanau-Wilhelmsbad for the past 22 years. There is a lot to discover once one has mastered the winding staircase to the first floor. Roman baby dolls sit in the semi-darkness of the antique cabinet, by the way in contrast to later dolls they are real little boys. French ladies have arrived in their valuable attire and even a Japanese regent's couple took a seat in the dolls museum.    Apart from the permanent exhibition numerous special exhibitions are on show and special events are being arranged. This would be impossible without the support of the city Hanau and the work of many volunteers. At the permanent exhibition visitors are being taken care of by friendly teams of two. Some staff members guide interested groups through the collection, do handicraft with children or do other special tasks.
