At the southwest slope of the Kellerwaldes lays the Greater Community  Haina/Kloster (comprising of 12 villages) in superb climatic situation; in the centre of the Nature Park Kellerwald-Edersee. This nature park was created because of its biggest inter-connected beech trees in Europe. You can walk for hours through beech woods, enjoy the clean air and be pampered in the evening in one of the hotels and pubs in the surrounding area.

A special sightseeing is the Cistercian monastery with big church that was build in the Romanesque and Gothic style.

The villages Battenhausen and Löhlbach are 'state approved recreational resorts'. These villages with nearly 500m above sea level are the higher situated places in the Kellerwald and because of this favourable location one will find very good winter sport conditions.
