Salt Route: Salt, the 'White Gold' was for years a very sought-after commodity. The history of salt production in Bentlage reaches far back into the Middle Ages. What master builder Johann Conrad Schlaun and the salt-water baths have to do with each other will be revealed to the visitors during a guest guided tour on the salt route.

Culture Route: On the paths from the salt-works to the monastery Bentlage one will experience living history and the beauty of nature. The medieval knight's monastery complex, which was used later as a castle, serves as a museum today. The museum exhibits among others shrines for relics of European importance.

Nature Route: The walkabout touches the Saltworks 'Gottesgabe' (God's gift), the monastery Bentlage and leads either on foot or by bicycle through the cultured landscape, which has grown more than thousands of years.
