Goedersheim Castle in Nideggen-Wollersheim

Gödersheim Castle is situated in Wollersheim, a neighbourhood of Nideggen, in the district of Düren. The moated castle, which lies in the valley of the Neffe stream, was first mentioned in 1343. The castle was built by the masters of Gödersheim. Around 1900 Gödersheim Castle became derelict apart from the great hall. The ruins of the moated castle, which can still be seen today, was built by the masters of Lülsdorf around 1500. Gödersheim Castle used to be a two-storied, rectangular castle.

It has a three-winged outer bailey and an inner bailey with a low brick wall. The castle in uninhabited since 1865. Around the ruin stood a branch of the Rhenish Clinics Düren from 1959 into the 21st-century. The surrounding terrain and Gödersheim Castle are owned by the Landschaftsverband Rheinland.
