German Glass-Painting-Museum Linnich

Since November 1997, the Glass-Painting-Museum in Linnich has found a new German-wide unique centre in a grain mill. The true to the original renovated watermill with its rooms, which are flooded with light offer enough space for one of Germany's oldest glass painting workshop and the numerous most diverse exhibits. The Glass-Painting-Museum offers visitors a wide variety and diverse programme. During a walking through all levels of the exhibiton the visitor will gain insight into the development of glass painting from past epochs to the present and the production methods of mouth blown discs.

In the museum-own workshop he can in the course of an organised guided tour comprehend the creation of a glass window from the design plan to the ready artwork. In addition, he will learn about new techniques because apart from the traditional lead glazing there is also something to learn about melting, printing, sandblasting, etching, dyeing and combining glass with other raw materials. The German Glass-Painting-Museum Linnich offers workshops, guided tours and special events, for example: children's birthday parties in the museum, museum's breakfast and lots more.
