The Geological and Mineralogical Museum of the Christian-Albrechts-University has been situated since 1848 in Kiel's city centre but its beginnings go back to the 18th century. After its destruction in the last war the museum was in the course of new buildings only in 1970 in its present form reopened on the University-Campus at the Olshausenstraße. Rocks, fossils and minerals are exhibited. On show are among others the parts of a coral ship of Gotland, fossilized wood from Arizona, Dinosaurian prints in new red sandstone ...
