House Martin Römer

Martin Römer's residence, built 1479, shows at the gable side the marriage coat of arms of Martin Römers and his wife Katarina Tretwein.  Martin Römer became 'loaded' through the Schneeberg silver mine and 'banker of the Saxon princes' was a patron of the town Zwickau. He created several ponds (among others the swan-lake), constructed a school building and two impressive grain houses (one storage from the year 1481 still exists today at the palace Osterstein).

At the Neuberinplatz 1, near the historical Hauptmarkt, is the Dünnebier-House situated. The grand stately house, built in the year 1480 impresses with its 5-storey corbie-gable and the striking arched windows.
The house is commonly known as "Wedding House' as the registry office of the town Zwickau is situated here.
