The chapel Black Madonna remembers the American prisoner-of-war camp, where between April and July 1945 more than 300.000 German soldiers were kept outdoors and under miserable circumstances. The figure of the Black Madonna was modelled in the camp by the artist Adolf Wamper who then gave it to pastor von Kripp. A chapel, financed by donation was built in 1987 in remembrance of the victims.
