Fingerhutmuseum (Thimble Museum) Creglingen

image author: G. Miladinovic

The only specialised museum of its kind in the world

The foundation of this private museum is the bequest of the brothers Gabler from Schorndorf, which was taken over in 1963 by Helmut Greif.

In several showcases thimbles from all time epochs and continents are being exhibited. Wall charts and pictures allow insight into the different manufacturing methods and materials.

Here a "thimble guild" has been created that tried very hard in the past to protect women's hands from the prick of a needle with feeling for form and ingenious inventions.
