Being there for the victims of traffic accidents, conveying the news of the death of loved ones, accompanying families and neighbours during fires, house accidents, bereavement and much more shape everyday life of an emergency counsellor.
It is ideal when apart from the emergency counsellor there is also a driver, who has at least a paramedic training and is able to support the emergency counsellor.
The cooperation between the DRK Kreisverband Essen and the ecumenical emergency counselling Essen has proved to be successful and offer Essen's citizens in these extreme life situations a small piece of security and human closeness, which does help.
