On the premises of the Übigauer shore crane ships were built and repaired from 1873 – 1958. The crane served especially the installation and removal of vessel steam facilities and engines. Since 1891 the shore crane has been existing. It was ordered in 1890 and built according ti the model of William Fairbairn. The crane stands in the UNESCO world heritage territory and thus belongs in the meantime to the listed historical objects of Dresden.
