Culture and Town Historical Museum

The Culture and Town Historical Museum Duisburg is situated directly at the inland harbour in a former grain mill. In close proximity are the Alte Markt, the Burgplatz, parts of the old town wall, the town hall and the Salvator church. The museum informs about Duisburg's town history from the Middle Ages to the present as well as folklore at the Lower Rhine.

For the interested visitor there are apart from permanent exhibitions about town history and the famous cartographer Gerhard Mercator and his time also changing special exhibitions. In addition the Culture and Town History Museum shows antique art and every day utensils as well as jewellery and coins from all over the world from the collection Köhler-Osbahr. Guided museum tours are possible by prior arrangement.
