Since the 1st June 1972 the village Marke has been belonging to the city of Osterode and it borders at the county district of Northeim.

The wooden welcome sign at the town entrance was erected in 1990.

In earlier days there was only one approach road which originated from the road between Förste and Dorste. In 1989 road works commenced building a road link from Marke to Elvershausen.

In the year 1936, the voluntary fire brigade of Marke was founded. The fire brigade station is located at the village community centre.

The village community centre was initially built as a school in 1951 and later, when the school in Marke was closed and the pupils had to commute to Förste, the building was used as a community centre.

The little chapel in Marke originating from the year 1584 is today a listed building.
