A new attraction at the Zittauer Mountains is the Butterfly House Jonsdorf, which opened its gates on 7th of February, to inspire visitors from near and far with lots of highlights.
The tropical house has an area of over 500qm, which gives 60 visitors at the same time the option to admire and discover the new animals calmly.

The advantage of the new hall: There is lots of free room with lots of light so that the plants have room to grow.
Banana plants are a great food source for the over 35 different butterfly species who cavort under the cupola roof.
It is a unique experience when over 300 exotic butterflies show off their best side.
So the visitor has to be alert as not to overlook any animal.

There is a great variety of reptiles, snakes and spiders for example tarantulas, iguana and turtles. They live in the terrariums at the entrance. Some animals like the stick-insect can be touched to the delight of the children.

The 3m long sea-water Aquarium is also part of a diverse list of attractions but it will only be populated completely in autumn
as every animal (spiders, scorpions and so forth) has to be acclimatised slowly.

There are of course also relevant lectures and qualified guided tours.

Everybody will find a place to rest like at the Cafeteria with snacks and cocktails.
