Bismarck Tower

Thanks to the then, strong Bismarck adoration, Göttingen also built a tower in 1896, as a sign of the honour for the Reich Chancellor.

The 31 metres high tower is situated at the highest point of the Kleperberg (332m above sea level). It is the highest Bismarck tower in Lower Saxony.

The four-level building offers a beautiful view over Göttingen and in good weather a view to the Brocken and the Hohen Meißner.

On the second floor of the main building (Bismarck memorial hall) stands a bronze bust. One floor is used for changing exhibitions, thus the tower is well worth a visit, even when the weather is not so nice.
