Bad Segeberg has a tradition as a health resort. The holiday magazine 'Holiday land Bad Segeberg' reports: 'Since 1884, sick persons find here pain relief and strengthening of their health. In 1924, the town received the title 'Bad' (bath). Thus, Segeberg became the present Bad Segeberg.'
After the 2nd World War, the health business stopped for the time being. But since the 1st of September 1992, Bad Segeberg is once again an approved Mineral-Health Resort. With a health resort spa business. The local remedy is a 28 % fluoride-containing brine, which is being won under the Kalkberg.
For the sake of completeness: Bad Segeberg is also an approved climatic spa resort since 1986.
